Some research results by the Department of Botany is opened for the public as online database .PEN News from the Botanical Garden

"PEN" stands for "Phenological Eyes Network," a satellite remote sensing system network designed to detect abnormalities in the ecological environment (biodiversity) associated with climate change (Tsuchida et al., 2005; Nasahara and Nagai, 2015).
PEN will be used to automatically observe long-term, qualitative and quantitative changes in vegetation conditions, spectral characteristics, and atmospheric conditions (aerosols, etc.), and to obtain information needed for various research projects.
Here, we will irregularly introduce seasonal changes within the Tsukuba Experimental Botanical Garden, etc., as observed using the PEN system installed within the garden by the PEN development team at the University of Tsukuba, as "PEN News from the Botanical Garden."
